Boeing experienced a significant uptick in deliveries, reaching 56 airplanes in November and recovering from challenges related to a 737 manufacturing defect. This achievement puts the aerospace giant in close proximity to its annual delivery goals.

November’s deliveries marked the highest since June, comprising 45 737 MAXs, one P-8 maritime patrol aircraft, two 777 freighters, two 767s, and six 787 Dreamliners, as reported by Boeing and corroborated by a recent Reuters report.

Boeing is now just eight Dreamliners away from meeting its annual delivery target of at least 70 units. Additionally, the company is 24 narrowbody 737s away from achieving its revised goal of at least 375 single-aisle jets.

To fulfill its original goal of delivering at least 400 narrowbody jets in 2023, Boeing aims to deliver 49 737s in December, a number it exceeded in the same month of the previous year. Chief Financial Officer Brian West had earlier indicated in October that 737 deliveries would rebound in November and December following the resolution of a supplier error.

November saw Boeing secure 114 gross orders, notably including a significant deal with Emirates for 90 widebody 777Xs announced during the Dubai Airshow. However, unidentified customers canceled a total of 10 737 orders, resulting in a net gain of 104 orders for the month.

Boeing’s gross orders for the year reached 1,085 units, with 945 net orders after accounting for cancellations and conversions. Accounting adjustments brought the total net orders to 1,207. The company’s backlog increased to 5,324 aircraft in November.

In comparison, Airbus reported 1,512 orders for the year, resulting in a net total of 1,395 after cancellations. Boeing’s strong November performance underscores its resilience and progress toward meeting its annual delivery goals.
