India’s EMS sector has gained increasing attention from both domestic and global investors, buoyed by the government’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, rising electronics consumption, and shifts in the global supply chain. Antique Stock Broking’s latest initiation report on EMS stocks highlights this momentum, projecting strong earnings growth and market share gains for key players.

“India’s EMS industry is at an inflection point, with global supply chain realignment and policy support poised to accelerate domestic manufacturing,” stated Antique’s analysts in a research note obtained by Moneycontrol.

Brokerage Targets and Rationale

Syrma SGS Technology

Antique Target Price: ₹720

Upside Potential: Approximately 18% from current levels

Rationale: Syrma SGS is expected to outperform due to its diversified product portfolio, focus on high-growth segments like automotive and industrial, and successful execution of expansion plans. The company’s recent capacity additions and plans for product innovation are projected to bolster revenues over the next several quarters.

“Syrma’s focus on higher-margin segments and operational efficiencies positions it for robust topline and bottomline growth,” Antique analysts noted.

Cyient DLM

Antique Target Price: ₹880

Upside Potential: Around 12%

Rationale: Backed by a strong order book and relationships with global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Cyient DLM is seen as a preferred play in high-reliability electronics. The company’s move to tap into aerospace, defense, and medical device manufacturing is considered a key long-term growth driver.

Kaynes Technology

Antique Target Price: ₹2,900

Upside Potential: Nearly 22%

Rationale: Kaynes’ end-to-end EMS capabilities and exposure to sunrise sectors like electric vehicles and IoT devices differentiate it from its peers. The brokerage applauds Kaynes’ strong execution track record and aggressive capex plans to cater to growing domestic and export demand.

Sector Outlook: Tailwinds and Challenges

Antique’s research points to several macro and industry-specific tailwinds favoring EMS stocks:

PLI Scheme and Government Incentives: India’s PLI schemes for electronics manufacturing have sparked new investments and increased competitive scale against Asian peers.

Growth in Consumer and Industrial Electronics: Rising middle-class demand and device proliferation are expected to accelerate order wins for EMS players.

Global De-risking and ‘China Plus One’: Multinational OEMs are diversifying supply chains by sourcing and manufacturing outside China, with India benefiting as a preferred destination.

However, the brokerage also cautioned about potential risks, including supply chain volatility, currency fluctuations, and intense sector competition, which could impact margins.

Perspectives from Market Experts

Several independent analysts echoed Antique’s optimistic view, underscoring that the Indian EMS sector’s earnings visibility has improved, thanks to order inflows and increasing scale.

With government support and capacity augmentation, Indian EMS firms can emerge as global outsourcing hubs in the coming decade,” said Ruchi Parekh, an independent equity strategist.

However, others advise investors to keep an eye on order execution, raw material price trends, and global economic uncertainties that may affect sector growth momentum.

Recent Performance and Investor Interest

Shares of Syrma SGS, Cyient DLM, and Kaynes Technology have outperformed broader market indices over the last year, reflecting growing investor confidence in the EMS theme. Collectively, the three companies have announced sizeable expansion plans and landed multiple customer contracts, underscoring their growth ambitions.

Syrma SGS: Achieved record quarterly revenues and announced new greenfield capacity.

Kaynes: Won a major IoT contract with a European customer, signaling export push.

Cyient DLM: Landed a multi-year deal for aerospace systems from a North American OEM.
